Introduction
Plum Schedules and Plum Clock use labor rules to track violations and ensure compliance. Adult Labor Rules include Daily and Weekly Overtime/Double Time, alerting managers when employees exceed set limits. Meal Break rules define minimum work hours before an unpaid break, while Minimum Wage ensures hourly pay meets legal requirements. Minimum Time Off Between Shifts prevents back-to-back scheduling violations, and managers or supervisors can be excluded from OT/DT calculations.
Minor Labor Rules apply separately, restricting Earliest Start Time, Latest End Time, and Maximum Work Hours for minor employees. They also ensure compliance with Minimum Wage laws. These rules help maintain legal adherence and streamline workforce management.
Adult Labor Rules
The various Labor rules are described below:
Enable Daily Over Time: This law will enable the daily overtime limit. Once set to a value it will inform the manager if the daily schedule of any employee will exceed the set value. E.g. if Daily Overtime law is set to 8 hrs. and daily schedule for any employee is 9 hrs. then the manager will be notified that the law of Overtime is breached.
Enable Weekly over Time: This law will enable the Weekly overtime limit. Once set to a value it will inform the manager if the weekly schedule of any employee will exceed the set value. E.g. if Weekly Overtime law is set to 40 hrs. and weekly schedule for any employee is 41 hrs. then the manager will be notified that the law of Weekly Overtime is breached.
Enable Daily Double Time: This law will enable the daily double time limit. Once set to a value it will inform the manager if the daily schedule of any employee will exceed the set value. E.g. if Daily double time law is set to 10 hrs. And the daily schedule for any employee is 11 hrs. then the manager will be notified that the law of Daily Double Time is breached.
Enable Weekly Double Time: This law will enable the weekly double time limit. Once set to a value it will inform the manager if the weekly schedule of any employee will exceed the set value. E.g. if Weekly double time law is set to 60 hrs. and weekly schedule for any employee is 61 hrs. then the manager will be notified that the law of Weekly Double Time is breached.
Enable Meal Break: This is the law which defines the minimum hours of work for an unpaid break. E.g. For California State the value is 5 which means if a person is working for 5 hours in a stretch then the person is eligible for a break.
Enable Minimum Wage: This law determines the minimum hourly wage for an hourly employee. For California State the value is $9.00 per hour.
Enable Minimum Time Off Between Shifts: This law will enable the minimum time off hours that should be provided between the two consecutive shifts. E.g. if on a particular day there is a shift of an employee from 3:00p-12:00a and there exists one more shift for the same day i.e. from 1:00a-7:00a and the minimum time between two shifts is set to 5 hours then the minimum time off law between two shifts will be breached.
Exclude Manager OT/DT: If this flag is enabled then managers will be excluded from OT/DT calculations.
Exclude Supervisor OT/DT: If this flag is enabled then supervisors will be excluded from OT/DT calculations.
